INTESTINAL HEALTH DIET
This diet has been helpful for those in my practice who are suffering from; Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's disease, Celiac disease, Diverticulitis, Chronic Diarrhea and other respective intestinal problems. When the diet is followed for a minimum of one year, usually you can return to a normal diet with complete and permanent disappearance of symptoms. This diet has been effective in correcting malabsorption and reversing the course of many intestinal disorders. For more information please read "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" by Elaine Gottschall.
No Food Should Be ingested That contains Carbohydrates Other Than Those Listed:
(Boiled or poached
Dry curd cottage cheese
Sunflower Oil Butter

Brussels sprouts Cabbage
Lettuce (leaf only)
***Snacks can include raw vegetables, provided that diarrhea is not active.
Juices: Tomato, V-8, fresh or frozen fruit juices without added sugar.
Foods Not Permitted
Proteins: Processed meats such as hot dogs, bologna, turkey loaf: spiced barn. breaded fish, canned fish with sauces, processed cheeses, smoked meats, canned meats. NO DAIRY OR YEAST.
Vegetables: No canned vegetables, no frozen vegetables if sugar or starch has been added. No white potatoes, yams, parsnips, chick peas, bean sprouts,' soybeans, mungbeans, faba beans, garbanzo beans.
Grains: No Wheat, barley, corn, rye, oats, rice, buckwheat, millet, triticale, bulgar, spell, cereals, bread, or flour made from these. No Amaranth flour, quinoa flour or grain substitutes. No wheat germ or sea weed..
Starches are not permitted, pastas, spaghetti, macaroni, com starch, tapioca.
Nuts: Avoid peanuts, nuts sold in salted mixtures.
Juices: Any juice with added sugar, avoid orange juice in the morning, no milks, buttermilk, commercial sour cream, commercial yogurt, dried milk solids, soybean milk, tea, coffee, postum, sodas, beer, wine.
Sugars: No molasses, com syrup, maple syrup, ketchup, mayonnaise, pectin in jellies, jams, No commercial ice creams, NO REFINED SUGAR. No sucrose, lactose, glucose, or dextrose. Misc.: No baking powder, no seeds, chocolate or carob.
