Essential Oils daily routine

MORNING ROUTINE

6:00 AM

Add 20 drops of your favorite energizing aroma (try Pink Grapefruit, Red Mandarin or INSPIRE Uplifting blend) to your Nature’s Sunshine Diffuser and diffuse in your bedroom or bathroom for 30 minutes while getting ready.

In the shower, add a drop of Tea Tree to each individual application of shampoo and conditioner to soothe dry skin and address dandruff or try Ylang Ylang to stimulate hair growth.

Bergamot shows antibacterial properties and is used in basic skin care. Create a custom blend of Bergamot with Carrier Oil (start with a 5 to 1 ratio) and use as a spot treatment for acne breakouts and to reduce the appearance of scars and fine lines.

Rose and Sandalwood are ideal for use on chapped, dry, sensitive or inflamed skin. Mix 3 drops of oil to an ounce of your favorite moisturizer for daily use on your face, neck and hands.

Add the various benefits of essential oils to all your personal care products by adding 10 to 20 drops of your favorite oils or blends to full bottles (at least 8 oz.) of shampoo, conditioner, shaving gel, liquid soaps and body lotions. Use fragrance-free products as your base and add a teaspoon of Carrier Oil to make each product more moisturizing.

7:00 AM

Don’t forget the kids! Children benefit from the same morning applications as you do. Start their day by diffusing an energizing blend and offer them the same oil-enhanced soaps, shampoo and conditioners you use.

During breakfast, add 20 drops of Lemon, Pink Grapefruit or Red Mandarin to your Diffuser and diffuse in the kitchen to energize and stimulate activity. (Substitute the citrus oils with Eucalyptus, BREATHE DEEP or ESSENTIAL SHIELD as a preventative measure during cold and flu season.

To promote concentration and mental clarity, try a topical application of Frankincense, Organic, Peppermint or Rosemary, Wild mixed with our Carrier Oil (start with a 5 to 2 ratio) on the temples, side and back of their necks.

Add your favorite uplifting fragrance (CORE balancing blend and INSPIRE uplifting blend) to a cotton ball and tuck them in the vents of your car’s heating and air conditioning system or use the UBS Mini Diffuser to help tackle the daily commute. (On the return trip, especially after sports practices and play dates, try PURIFY refreshing blend in the ventilation to neutralize odors.

AFTERNOON ROUTINE

2:00 PM

Use Nature’s Sunshine’s Aroma Ball Plug-In Diffuser to diffuse your favorite invigorating fragrance (try Pink Grapefruit, Jasmine, Cinnamon Leaf and CORE balancing blend or PURIFY refreshing blend) throughout your day in the office. Diffuse Lemon for mental clarity and Sandalwood to enhance memory.

For tension headaches after important meetings and presentations, apply 2 to 3 drops of Peppermint to the temples, back of the neck and earlobes.

Rather than reach for a soda or sweet treat to combat the typical mid-afternoon slump, try inhaling a simple mix of equal parts Lemon, Peppermint and Tea Tree from cupped hands.

5:00 PM

Add a few drops of Tea Tree or ESSENTIAL SHIELD oil blend to Hand & Body Lotion (start with 10 drops per 8 oz. bottle) and Tea Tree Oil  apply upon arriving home to ward off germs and harmful bacteria.

Freshen and sanitize the kitchen before and after dinner prep by adding 3-5 drops of Lemon oil to a clean sponge damp with distilled water.

During homework, Diffuse Lemon oil for clarity or apply Frankincense, Organic to the bottoms of the feet for a calming effect and to address nervousness.

EVENING ROUTINE

9:00 PM

Diffuse 10 drops of calming oils (try Lavender, Organic, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang or REFUGE calming blend and RENEW releasing blend) in your Diffuser during evening meditation or while reading to create a restful evening ritual.

Add Sandalwood, Lavender, organic, Eucalyptus or RECOVER Soothing blend (start with 3 to 5 drops) to a cup or two of Epsom salts in the bath. (BREATHE DEEP, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus are beneficial during cold and flu season.) Adding 1 to 2 drops of Lavender, Organic or REFUSE Calming Blend directly to the bath is beneficial.

After bath, create a custom massage oil blend for tired feet. Add 4 to 5 drops of Frankincense, Organic, Myrrh, Wild or Roman Chamomile with Carrier Oil and apply to the soles of the feet. (To help prepare the digestive system for rest, apply 2 to 3 drops of RENEW releasing blend during the reflexology massage as.)

Add 1 to 2 drops of Lavender, Organic to the palms of the hands and brush across pillowcases and other bedding for a calming effect.

Finally, Diffuse REFUGE Calming Blend, Lavender, Organic, Roman Chamomile or Ylang Ylang as you turn in to encourage rest and relaxation.
